What is a vinyl liner pool?

A vinyl liner pool is a pool with a customized sheet of vinyl between the water surface and the pool structure. These liners usually lock their top edge into a track situated at the bottom of the deck at deck level.

The vinyl liner pool consists of five main components.

• Wall panel
• Pool base
• Vinyl liner
• procedure
• handle

Wall panel: Paneling – Construct pool walls everywhere except stairs. The most common material options are steel, aluminum, or polymers (plastics).

These wall panels are usually 42 inches high, so the shallow end of the vinyl liner pool is usually that depth.

Pool base: pool floors are usually made of vermiculite or mortar. Apply the mixture of materials to the bottom with a rounded pool trowel, then attach the liner on top.

Vinyl liner: Obviously, the liner is vinyl. Thickness is measured on a mill-this is not the same as millimeters. The mill is 1/1000 inch and is also called “you” (like 1/1000).

Vinyl liners for underground pools are typically 20, 27, 28, or 30 mils thick and less than 1 millimeter.
Another unit of measurement is the meter, which varies in size from retailer to retailer. If the reading is a gauge, ask for it on the mill to make sure it is what you need. The vinyl sheet is embossed or non-embossed (default).

The embossed liner has peaks and valleys and is of different thickness, so it feels soft. They are measured at the highest peak of the liner, not at the bottom solid part. That is, if the liner is “25 mil embossed”, it is not 25 miles high across the top.
The unembossed liner doesn’t feel like a squeeze because it has a flat top. This option is the same thickness throughout.

An economical option for vinyl pool liners is 20 mil embossing.
A thin liner can easily tear or puncture, but it’s cheaper and easier for builders to work with.
Thicker liners are more expensive and more difficult to handle, but they provide additional protection from dog claws and pointed toys beyond which your toddler was thrown into the pool. It works as a good insurance policy, so it is advisable to use a thicker vinyl sheet. This can still cause problems, but thicker pool vinyl liner replacement provides better protection from the worst damage.

How much does it cost to install an inground vinyl liner at the pool?
